Picture Frame Ideas
When it comes to picture frame ideas, you have to be quite creative if you’re gonna have something that both look terrific and is unique. Yeah, there are a great deal of stores out there offering plain looking picture frames but those will not stand out in your house. If a picture is special enough to be framed and displayed, it’s definitely special enough to warrant a beautiful frame. I have a couple of good ideas that might get you started or even spark a few ideas so you can have a 100% unique design! First off, for large frames I like to use a sponge-paint method. For this, buy any color paint that you want but make sure it fits with the background color of the frame. For example, I like to use gold paint on silver backgrounds. The idea here is to bathe the sponge in the paint and then press it lightly against the frame, applying equal pressure in all places. This will leave you with a beautifully coated outer frame that looks rustic and expensive. The key here is to experiment, so apply your own little twist to this picture frame idea! You could glue some leaves onto the corners of the frame, giving it that nature look. You could carve shapes into random areas, of even initial it with a pocket knife! There are so many ways to make frames look unique, you just need to get the creative juices streaming. Another great picture frame idea I had takes a little bit more effort than the sponge method. First, go outdoors and put the frame up on some sort stand that you don’t mind getting paint on. Grab a clean paint brush, and select 4 or 5 different colors of paint. Bring this all outdoors with you and open all the paint pails at once. Now dip the brush into the first container and just fling the paint off the tip into the frame. Do this with all the paint you’ve brought outside, then let it dry. When you come back, the wet paint will have streaked down the picture frame, creating a kind of melting effect. This one is my most favorite!
